On The Bench / Reviving Foam

Making a new cover for a cushion is just one part of giving an old cushion new life. Foam, like a regular sponge, will hold it the shape if pressed into a form for a long period of time. Using a hand steamer, we can rejuvenate foam to pop back into it’s original form and help create a cushion that looks like new.

On The Bench / Custom Frame and Bimini

Custom Frame and Bimini. We bent the frame in-house. Designed, patterned, and made the Bimini to the customer specs.

On The Bench / Window Repair

Fall and Spring, prime time to fix broken windows. These two required some much needed attention. Difficult to see all of the cracks in these photos, but in the last photo you can see the new window material ready to go back on the boat.

On The Bench / Cushion Revival

One of Five Cushions that need to be recovered. Foam is steamed with a hand steamer so it will pop back into it’s original shape. Then we take the old cover apart stitch-by-stitch so we can piece together a new one. New Bright White Naugahyde, and the old cushion looks Brand New!

Plan your off-season canvas work

Flybridge6repairsNow is the time to start thinking about repairs, maintenance or replacing your canvas. As you make your plans for decommissioning your boat for the season, take a good look at your canvas. Does it need couple new zippers, or maybe some restitching. Are your windows so foggy and brittle that you can no longer see out? Need a new Bimini? We can take your frame for the Winter and have a new one ready for the Spring. These are all perfect Winter projects. Most canvas shops get real busy in the Spring. Schedule your work now so you will have your canvas in tip-top shape come next  season.

BOAT COVERS

Full Bridge Enclosure for a Silverton in Charcoal Tweed Sunbrella

At first I thought the Charcoal Tweed Sunbrella was going to be too dark for such a large boat. But Sunbrella’s tweed patterns add a nice touch of color without getting too dark (or in some cases, too light). Solid black would have been too much, and the grey would have washed the boat out.

This was the owners call all the way. Great call Audrey & Tom! Your boat looks fabulous!!!
